Various provocations were set up for them, and using many resources, such as books and dress-ups, helped them achieve many meaningful learning experiences! The children were so engaged, and we loved how they enjoyed every experience they encountered with their peers.
First, they drew themselves, their faces and emotions using paper and vivid black pens. Next, we encouraged them to draw on plastic film. The children loved seeing their artwork displayed on the wall, and they were delighted and proud to show it to their parents and whānau.
Another remarkable experience involved building a fort with little areas such as the kitchen, dressing area, office with their 'laptops', picnic area, garden and many more. They used many blankets, chairs and tables to connect and make their fort. We admire how everyone contributed, helped and supported one another, sharing their ideas and working together. It was indeed a great collaboration.
We all decided to have a special morning tea to end this beautiful week. As the tamariki had used all the chairs to set up their 'house', there was none left for our morning tea. So, instead, we had a buffet-style morning tea!
The children were so independent, taking their bowls and food, getting their water bottles and taking turns. We look forward to another fabulous week next week filled with exciting experiences with our adventurous Kea children!
