Talofa Lava!
My name is Samantha Seiuli and I hold a Bachelor of Education in teaching ECE as well as a Post Graduate Certificate in Education, both from Auckland University of Technology. I have been working for Treetops for over nine years. 2015, I was a kaiako at Botany Town Centre. In 2018 I worked as a kaiako at Botany Junction and in 2024 I became Centre Manager. I have a beautiful daughter who is currently working, and I’m fortunate to have incredible family support – my parents, my sisters, and their families form my village. It truly takes a village to raise a child!
My daughter was one of the key inspirations behind my pursuit of a teaching career. As a parent, I wanted to witness her growth firsthand and actively participate in her learning journey. Being part of her life has been an amazing experience.
The Reggio Emilia philosophy resonates deeply with my own teaching beliefs and heavily influences my teaching practice. I believe children thrive in an environment that fosters creativity, fun, and learning, all within an eco-friendly setting. I view children as confident and capable learners.
I love seeing our Treetops tamariki flourish in their environment. I believe that it takes a village to raise a child, a principle that is clearly reflected in the Reggio Emilia approach to learning. This philosophy emphasizes building strong relationships between children, parents, and teachers.
“O le tagata ma lona aiga, o le tagata ma lona fa’asinomaga”
“Every person belongs to an aiga and every aiga belongs to a person”
I have been with Treetops ELC as an administrator since 2016. I am married to Tony and we have three gorgeous daughters.
Nothing makes me happier than hearing a child laugh and witnessing contentment in both parents and children coming and going from our Centre. I am privileged to be a part of the Treetops Whānau.
The knowledge and perspective that my reading and cooking has strengthened my cooking and presentation skills. I attribute this success to my ability to plan, schedule and handle many different tasks at once. The flexibility will help me in all areas where there are many different learning styles. I look forward to cooking delicious, nutritious meals for the children at Treetops Botany Junction.
