At our Treetops Childcare Centres, we believe in teaching tamariki (children) the value of giving back to the community. Every year, we host a special event to raise funds for Daffodil Day, supporting the Cancer Society. Cancer affects countless families across New Zealand, and this annual event is a meaningful way for our childcare centres to contribute to this vital cause.
On Daffodil Day, the Treetops community came together dressed in bright yellow, symbolising the daffodil flower and the hope it brings. Our tamariki embraced the theme by creating beautiful, hand-painted daffodil artworks. These unique creations were framed and made available for parents and whānau to purchase, with all proceeds going to the Cancer Society.
As part of the fundraising efforts, our tamariki went on a Daffodil Walk around the Botany Junction complex. During the walk, tamariki proudly sold daffodils and daffodil stickers to the local community. This activity not only raised funds but also gave the children a sense of accomplishment and joy in helping others.
At Treetops Pukekohe, our tamariki baked delicious daffodil-shaped cookies, which were sold to the community to raise funds for this important cause. The event was a fantastic success, and we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed. Your support has made a meaningful difference for Daffodil Day!
Every donation collected during Daffodil Day helps provide crucial support for families affected by cancer. The funds raised:
At our Treetops Childcare Centres, we aim to instil compassion and community values in our tamariki. Events like Daffodil Day teach children about empathy, giving back, and working together for a good cause. These lessons are an important part of our holistic childcare approach, helping children grow into thoughtful and caring individuals.
We’re grateful to our Treetops whānau and the wider community for their generous contributions. Together, we’re making a real difference for those affected by cancer. Thank you for helping us turn hope into action!
