Treetops Early Learing Centre

Creative learning thrives at our daycare in Pukekohe & Botany!

At our daycare centers in  Pukekohe and Botany, tamariki enjoy a variety of exciting, child-led learning experiences. These activities encourage their imagination and creativity while helping them build essential social skills. Through collaborative play, tamariki learn to share, communicate, and develop meaningful friendships with their peers.

Our educators actively support tamariki as they grow their self-regulation, independence, and communication skills. By guiding tamariki through both positive and challenging interactions, we help them understand and express their feelings. These skills allow tamariki to handle their emotions and build strong, healthy relationships.

Every day looks a little different, but our teachers focus on creating a welcoming space where tamariki feel a strong sense of belonging. This supportive environment helps tamariki grow into confident, competent, and passionate learners who collaborate and lead with confidence.

How Exploration Shapes Learning at Our Daycare

We emphasise the Exploration Strand | Mana Āoturoa at our daycare in Auckland, Pukekohe, and Botany. Exploration allows tamariki to make sense of the world around them through play and hands-on activities. This approach encourages tamariki to solve problems, experiment, and collaborate while growing their curiosity and confidence.

Here are some of the skills tamariki develop through exploration:

  • Problem-solving: Tamariki identify challenges, imagine solutions, and test their ideas.
  • Experimenting and risk-taking: They try new things, explore possibilities, and learn through experience.
  • Collaborating with others: Tamariki share ideas, work together, and build teamwork skills.
  • Persevering: They learn to keep trying, even when faced with challenges.
  • Being curious: Tamariki ask questions and explore their world with wonder.
  • Building confidence: They develop a strong sense of identity as capable learners and explorers.
  • Using resources creatively: Tamariki make the most of what’s around them to solve problems and create.
  • Observing and explaining: They notice details, ask questions, and share their thoughts.

At our daycare centers, we provide the tools and guidance tamariki need to thrive. Through exploration and play, tamariki develop important skills that prepare them to succeed as lifelong learners and leaders.
